KMTC Opens September 2026 Intake Applications Via KUCCPS Portal.

Prospective students seeking admission to the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) can now apply for the September 2026 intake after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) officially opened applications for pre-service programmes.

The application window opened shortly after KMTC students completed their Final Qualifying and End-of-Semester examinations, marking the beginning of the admission process for a new cohort of trainees expected to report to various KMTC campuses later this year.

According to KUCCPS, applicants seeking admission to KMTC pre-service programmes have until August 11, 2026, to submit their applications through the KUCCPS Student Portal.

Applicants seeking admission to in-service and upgrading programmes have been directed to submit their applications through the official KMTC Admissions Portal.

KUCCPS and KMTC Outline Separate Application Channels

KUCCPS indicated that all applications for KMTC pre-service programmes must be submitted through the KUCCPS Student Portal within the stipulated application period.

Meanwhile, KMTC stated that applications for in-service and upgrading programmes will continue to be processed through its official admissions platform.

The separate application channels are intended to facilitate the admission of different categories of students into the institution’s academic programmes.

KMTC Warns Against Fake Admission Notices

The announcement follows a recent warning issued by KMTC after a fake admission poster circulated widely on social media, falsely claiming that applications had opened for several medical training programmes.

According to KMTC, the fraudulent notice advertised admission into multiple health-related courses and misled prospective applicants into believing that an official admission exercise was underway.

The fake poster listed programmes including:

  • Clinical Medicine
  • Nursing
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical Engineering
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Radiography
  • Public Health
  • Other health-related courses

KMTC urged members of the public to disregard unofficial admission notices and cautioned prospective students against relying on information circulated through unverified social media platforms.

The institution advised applicants to obtain admission information exclusively through its official communication channels and designated application portals.

Programmes Offered at KMTC

Kenya Medical Training College remains one of Kenya’s largest public institutions for training middle-level healthcare professionals.

The institution offers certificate, diploma and higher diploma programmes designed to prepare graduates for deployment in hospitals, health centres and other healthcare facilities across the country.

Among the disciplines offered are:

  • Nursing
  • Clinical Medicine
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Radiography
  • Public Health
  • Nutrition
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Community Health

In addition to these programmes, KMTC offers training in several other specialised health science disciplines across its campuses nationwide.

September Intake

The September 2026 intake is expected to admit students into KMTC campuses located across Kenya as the institution continues to expand training opportunities for healthcare professionals.
