    Kenya’s Highest Paid Teacher (TSC Job Group): Latest Increment.

    Kenya’s highest paid teachers are chief principals. They received the highest pay after their salaries were adjusted by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

    The move was as a result of extensive consultations between Kenya Union of Teachers (KNUT) and Salaries and Remuneration Commission(SRC) aimed at addressing teachers’ demand for better pay in line with the current hard economic times.

    Salary Increment Details

    The negotiated salary increments will is being implemented in phases. This strategic increase will help teachers manage the ongoing financial crisis more effectively. The new job groups by the Teachers Service Commission and their corresponding salary scales reflect changes.

    TSC Job Groups and Salary Scales

    According to the TSC report, Chief Principal is labeled under Grade D5 which is the highest paid teaching position. Under a new wage policy, significant improvements have been proposed across various grades. Here are key salary adjustments:

    Chief Principals’ Earnings

    Chief Principals are in Grade D5 whose basic salaries will rise from Kshs 131,380 to not less than Kshs 140,577 representing an increment by seven percent.
