Musingu School Rewards Top Mock Performers with KQ Flight to Nairobi.
Musingu High School has taken its celebration of academic excellence to new heights. The top three performers in the August MOCK exams, along with their class teacher, were awarded an exclusive KQ flight experience.
On Saturday, September 21, 2024, the group boarded a Kenya Airways flight from Kisumu International Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 7:40 a.m.
The high-achieving students—Emmanuel Boaz, Eugene Mate Sirho, and Morgan Muchapa—earned this honor by securing top A grades in the August MOCK exams, which included participation from six schools: St. Joseph’s Girls, St. Anthony Kitale, St. Monica Kitale, Chewoyet Boys, Bwake Boys, and Musingu School.
Recognition of Excellence
During a Friday morning assembly, Mr. Bernard Toili Lukuya, the school’s Chief Principal, presented the four KQ tickets to the students and their class teacher.
He praised the trio for their exceptional results in what he described as one of the toughest MOCK exams. Mr. Lukuya expressed his pride in the students’ achievements, calling it a major milestone for the Musingu School community.
He added that he was fulfilling his promise to reward the students and their class teacher, Mr. Daniel Oscar Fundia, with a flight to Nairobi for a weekend trip. The announcement was met with cheers from the 2,767 students, teachers, and support staff in attendance.
The Nairobi Excursion
The group of four left Kisumu International Airport on Saturday morning, heading to JKIA, where they would be welcomed by Desmond Otuoma, the President of the Musingu School Alumni Association.
Their trip included visits to various university faculties in the city, key government institutions, and a stay at top-tier 5-star hotels. The students and their teacher were expected to return on Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m., concluding their memorable weekend experience.
Musingu School Shines in Co-Curricular Activities
In 2024, Musingu School has achieved remarkable success in the co-curricular field. The school’s soccer team has been recognized as the top-performing team, while the hockey team emerged as the champions of Kenya during the prestigious Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) competitions.
These victories have placed Musingu School at the forefront of co-curricular achievements.
As the dust settles on their co-curricular triumphs, the school’s attention has now turned toward academic performance.
The administration is determined to showcase their prowess in academics as well, aiming to excel in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. The school hopes to match its success in sports with academic excellence, proving that it is a well-rounded institution.
