TSC TPAD User Manual for Teachers: Downloads, Filling Forms.

TSC created the Teacher Performance Appraisal and Development (TPAD) system to assist teachers in identifying areas for improvement in order to improve student learning. The method also serves to ensure that teachers perform to the best of their abilities, hence ensuring good teaching standards in the country’s educational institutions.

The TSC TPAD system is used in primary, secondary, and university institutions across the country. Below, we have compiled all of the system’s information, including a list of all forms, what they do, and how to download and fill them out.

The following is a list of all TSC TPAD forms used by the Teacher Service Commission to assess teacher performance.

PC for heads of primary schools.

This is the TSC TPAD tool, which the TSC uses to evaluate the performance of primary school heads. It outlines the head teacher’s responsibilities and includes performance assessment criteria such as financial stewardship, service delivery, core mandate, procurement, cross-cutting strategies, and others.

PC for Principal of Secondary Schools

This is the performance assessment form used to evaluate secondary school principals. It is comparable to the one used for primary school principals and includes similar assessment criteria such as financial stewardship and discipline, service delivery, execution of core mandate, procurement processes, and cross-cutting strategies.

This is the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) TPAD tool for reporting an institution’s performance on a termly basis. It includes a section for the performance aim, the activities completed, the achievement level, deviation (from the target), reasons for divergence, and recommendations for improvement.

PC M&E monthly progress report tool

This is another evaluation and monitoring tool for reporting on the success of the country’s primary and secondary school institutions. It is comparable to the termly M&E, with the exception that the reporting period is monthly.

PC M&E annual progress report tool

This is another M&E form used by the TSC to evaluate the performance of Kenyan learning institutions. It is comparable to the monthly and quarterly M&E TPAD appraisals above, but with a one-year reporting period.

TPAD checklist for heads of institutions

This is the TSC TPAD appraisal used to examine institution heads’ ability to maintain teaching standards. It contains a checklist of numerous items utilized in the teaching process, such as a master timetable, approved work schemes, lesson attendance analysis, extracurricular activity records, staff performance reviews, and so on.

TPAD Checklist for Teacher Professional Documents

This is another form for evaluating the performance of institutional heads. It includes a checklist of professional documents that the head should save, such as a master timetable, analysed examination assessments, copies of approved work schemes, analysed lesson attendance, disciplinary and guidance counselling records, staff files, and so on.

TPAD’s post-secondary institutions

This is a TSC TPAD for evaluating the performance of TSC-employed lecturers, trainers, and tutors in postsecondary institutions. The performance is evaluated using teaching standards criteria such as professional knowledge and ability to apply it, time management, creativity and innovation, lecture conduct and learner protection, safety and discipline, professional development, extracurricular promotion, and collaboration with guardians, sponsors, and stakeholders.

TPAD Tool for Teachers

This is the TSC TPAD for teachers, which is used to evaluate their teaching effectiveness. It is comparable to the TPAD form for lecturers and uses the same performance criteria.

TPAD lesson observation FormLOF.

This is another TPAD for teacher appraisal that evaluates their performance based on their teaching behavior during a lesson. It examines a variety of teaching characteristics, including lesson introduction and organisation, content delivery, teaching techniques used, learner engagement/involvement, and class management.

TPAD lesson recovery ScheduleLRS

This is another TPAD assessment form used by TSC for teachers. It evaluates a teacher’s ability to recover missing lessons. The form shows the number of classes missed, recovered, and not recovered.

TPAD School Calendar of Activities

This is a TPAD form that includes an institution’s calendar of TPAD activities. It includes the many activities that must be accomplished, as well as the person(s) responsible for completing them and the deadline.

TPAD teacher lesson attendance record TLAR

It is an evaluation form for teachers based on their lesson attendance. The form is intended to be completed by class monitors, then forwarded to the class teacher (lower primary classes) or deputy head teacher/deputy principal for further completion before being submitted to the head teacher/principal.

TPAD tool SNE.

This is a TPAD evaluation designed to evaluate the teaching performance of special needs educators. It is similar to TPAD appraisals for instructors and lecturers. It evaluates teaching characteristics such as professional knowledge and application, time management, teaching innovation and originality, learner safety and teacher conduct, extracurricular activity promotion, professional growth, and collaboration with parents/guardians.

TPAD tool for heads of institutions.

The form examines the teaching performance of institutional heads. It is similar to the TPAD evaluation tools for lecturers, trainers, and tutors, as well as teachers who provide special education.

TSC TPAD Manual for Teachers

1. On your desktop, click the Start button to launch one of the browsers, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox.

2. Type in the “address line” the following URL https://www.tsc.go.ke/ and hit the enter key.

3. The next screen appears. Point to Online Services, then click on Teacher Appraisal.

4. The following screen will be displayed. Click the Login button, as illustrated.

5. On the login screen, insert your TSC number as your username and password, then click the login button.

6. The Manage Account screen will display.

7. On the Manage Account screen, enter your password and click the Change Password button.

8. The confirmation notice will be displayed as shown below; then, click on the login button.

9. Enter your TSC number as your username and your new password on the login screen, then click the login button.

10. Finalize your registration and click the submit button.

11. The homepage is shown as shown below.

12. Click on the data tab, then institutions, as illustrated.

13. Click on the “my institution” tab as displayed.

14. The list of teachers at the institution will be displayed. Click the appraisal button beside your name.

15. If the appraisal form is not displayed, select the Create New button.

16. Fill in all of the information in the spaces indicated below.

17. Click the Create button.

18. Click on the action tab dropdown arrow and select the corresponding form to fill.

19. For example, click on the teaching standard mass to appraise/rate oneself appropriately, then click the save data button.
