TSC Temporary Teaching Certificate for Non-Kenyan Citizens

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) exclusively accepts online applications for the Temporary Teaching Certificate for non-Kenyan citizens. The application process requires strict adherence to specific guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Applicants must fully complete all sections of the application form, providing accurate information.

Deliberately submitting false details constitutes a serious offence under Section 44 of the TSC Act No. 20 of 2012, punishable by a fine of up to Ksh 100,000, a twelve-month imprisonment term, or both. Prospective applicants may save their progress and complete the form later if needed.

    Document Submission Requirements

Applicants must scan and upload only original, relevant documents as part of their submission. Expatriate teachers are additionally required to provide a clearance letter issued by the Ministry of Education’s Vetting Committee. All documents must meet the stipulated criteria to avoid delays or rejections.

    Application Fees

The registration process entails a non-refundable application fee. For new registrations, applicants must pay Ksh 1,050 using approved e-Citizen government payment methods such as MPesa, Airtel Money, KCB Cash, Equity Cash, or E-Agent. Similarly, duplicate certificate requests require a non-refundable fee of Ksh 2,050, processed through the same payment channels.

As of July 1, 2023, all fees must be paid using the government Pay Bill business number 222222 or other sanctioned methods.

    Important Considerations

TSC emphasizes the importance of reviewing all application requirements on the Award Webpage before beginning the process. Applicants are encouraged to meticulously follow the guidelines and verify their documents to ensure a smooth application experience.

One TSC representative noted that the online system simplifies the process, ensuring that non-Kenyan teachers can apply efficiently and within legal parameters.
