TSC Guide on Deployment of 2024 KPSEA, KCSE Invigilator and Supervisor.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) is set to oversee the administration of the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Intermediate Learner Education Assessment (KILEA), and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations in October and November 2024. These assessments will commence on 22nd October and conclude on 22nd November, 2024.

The table below presents the detailed schedule for these assessments:

Nomination of Centre Managers, Supervisors, and Invigilators

To ensure the smooth running of these assessments, KNEC requires the identification and nomination of centre managers, supervisors, and invigilators. The selected personnel must be vetted and their details submitted into the CP2 system by 11th October 2024 through the link: http://cp2.knec.ac.ke.

    Recruitment Guidelines

When nominating personnel, the following guidelines must be adhered to:

    Teacher Qualifications

Only qualified, employed, and TSC-registered teachers should be nominated. They must exhibit high integrity and be incorruptible.

    Avoiding Conflicts of Interest

Supervisors and invigilators must not be deployed to examination centres where they have personal interests. Each individual must declare their connection to the centre they are assigned to.

    Verification of Personnel

Centre managers are responsible for verifying the details and workstations of supervisors and invigilators posted to their centres. They must also take daily attendance.

    Invigilation in Stage-Based Pathway Schools

Teachers in schools with Stage-Based Pathway learners will invigilate their own students. The ratio of one invigilator per ten learners should be maintained. These invigilators are also required to sign the declaration form.

    Supervisor Allocation

Each supervisor should manage up to 200 candidates. Hosted centres will not require supervisors.

    Invigilator Allocation

For every 20 candidates, one invigilator should be deployed. Hosted centres should receive invigilators based on their candidate numbers.

Centre Management for Hosted and Hosting Centres

Both hosted and hosting centres are required to have their own centre managers. The hosting centre manager will handle the collection and return of examination materials.

    Deployment Restrictions

Supervisors and invigilators should not be deployed to the same centre for more than two consecutive years. The CP2 system will automatically restrict such deployments.

    System Registration

Only personnel registered in the CP2 system will be deployed, and only they will have their claims processed.

    KCSE Supervisors

Supervisors for KCSE exams must be secondary school teachers. Additionally, they will be rotated weekly, with outgoing supervisors required to prepare handover notes for incoming ones.

    Assistance with Recruitment

Sub-counties facing recruitment challenges should communicate their issues, and necessary support will be provided.
