    Fire Raze Yemit Boys High School in Elgeyo Marakwet.

    On Monday evening, a fire broke out at Yemit Boys High School in Marakwet West, Elgeyo Marakwet County, destroying property of unknown value.

    According to witnesses, the fire broke out about 6.30 p.m. and burned one of the dormitories, which housed over a hundred students.

    According to reports, the flame broke out when the students were attending evening classes, raising concerns about the cause of the fire.

    Mwalimunews.com received videos showing the dormitory completely engulfed in smoke, even as students and other locals stepped up their efforts to extinguish the fire.


    Moments afterward, police officers arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation to determine the source of the fire.

    Despite the massive destruction to property, there were no reported injuries.

    The latest incident follows a string of fires reported across the country over the last seven days. Yemit Boys’ fire disaster occurred just hours after Ortum Boys Secondary School reported a similar incident.

    A fire broke out on Monday morning, partially destroying one of the dormitories. According to sources, the incident happened when the children were attending class.

    Several students were filmed scampering to save their belongings while others attempted to extinguish the fire.

    On Saturday evening, a fire at Isiolo Girls High School in Isiolo County resulted in the rescue of several children.

    The Kenya Red Cross Society confirmed the incident and dispatched a rescue team to the location.

    “A fire has been reported at Isiolo Girls High School in Isiolo County.” The Kenya Red Cross confirmed that response teams were launched.
