Fire Engulfs Father Makewa School in Machakos.
Even as authorities continue to investigate the cause of the recent rise in fire incidents around the country, another fire broke out on Tuesday morning at Father Makewa Boys High School in Machakos County, demolishing a dormitory at the educational institution.
According to reports, the fire broke out at 6 a.m., while the students were attending early morning classes.
A pastor who lives next to the school told the press that no students suffered injuries because they were all attending their different classes.
The Machakos County Government promptly dispatched firefighters to the scene, where they collaborated to extinguish the fire before it spread further.
While commenting on the situation, Yatta Member of Parliament Robert Ngui expressed remorse and assured the school of his support.
Ngui expressed heartfelt sympathies to the Fr. Makewa Secondary School community in Makutano, Ikombe Ward, after a devastating fire destroyed the boys’ dormitory. He acknowledged the emotional toll and disruption the incident has caused for students, parents, and staff, describing it as a challenging time. Ngui assured the community of his unwavering support during this difficult period.

“I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the Fr. Makewa Secondary School community in Makutano, Ikombe Ward, following the devastating fire that destroyed the boys’ dormitory,” Ngui told reporters.
In order to prevent similar incidents from occurring, the member of parliament went on to urge students to come out and express their concerns to the school administrator in order to prevent similar incidents from occurring.
The fire catastrophe at Makewa School adds to a string of fires reported at various schools across the country in the past week.
