Fire Breaks Out at Isiolo Boys School, Days After Isiolo Girls Incident.

On Tuesday evening, a fire broke out at Isiolo Boys High School, three days after a dormitory was destroyed at Isiolo Girls, adding to the growing list of institutions where fires have been reported in the past week.

In a statement, the Kenya Red Cross announced the activation of emergency teams to address the situation.

Mwalimunews.com received videos showing smoke billowing from the learning institution, adding to the growing number of schools where fires have recently occurred.

The property of unknown worth went up in smoke, leaving passersby staring in surprise. Upon publication of this article, the cause of the fire remained undetermined. The magnitude of the destruction was likewise unknown.

On Saturday, a fire broke out at Isiolo Girls, which is located nearby Isiolo Boys. The most recent instance could lend support to the theory that the fires are deliberate acts of arson.

The reports of fires at Yemit Boys High School on Monday evening are instructive. Father Makewa School in Machakos County reported another fire a few hours later on Tuesday morning.

President Ruto’s directive to fly flags at half mast in remembrance of those killed at Hillside Endarasha School in Nyeri County last week has ushered in the country’s third day of national mourning.

The president has already directed security services to speed up investigations into the causes of major fires at schools around the country.

The Head of State stated on September 10 that compliance with government regulations aimed at preventing fire accidents in learning institutions was non-negotiable. He emphasized that adherence to these regulations was the only effective means of preventing loss of life and injury in schools.

He also directed security agencies to expedite investigations into the Hillside Academy fire tragedy as well as into incidents affecting other institutions, following a report from the Ministry of Education regarding the fire at Hillside Endarasha.

Security services are likely to report their findings to President Ruto in due time.
