    KJSEA Exams Structure: How Grade 9 Examinable Papers Are Prepared and Questions Set.

    The Kenya Junior School Education Assessments (KJSEA) was piloted between July 15, 2024, and July 19, 2024, and the exam questions were structured based on this pilot phase.

    Examinable Papers for Grade 9 in KJSEA

    Below is a list of the subjects assessed in Grade 9 KJSEA, along with the number of papers assigned to each subject:

    Kiswahili Exam Structure

    The Kiswahili exam is divided into two papers. Paper 1 comprises multiple-choice questions on language, while Paper 2 is further divided into the following sections:

    The total score for Kiswahili is 50 marks.

    Agriculture and Nutrition (Paper 906/1)

    The Agriculture and Nutrition paper consists of two sections:

    1. Section A: Multiple Choice Questions (30 marks)
    2. Section B: Structured Questions (40 marks)

    Additionally, the paper includes three tasks based on practical assessments.

    Integrated Science

    The Integrated Science paper follows a similar format, with:

    • Section A: Multiple Choice Questions (30 marks)
    • Section B: Structured Questions (40 marks)

    English

    The English exam is divided into two papers:

    1. Paper 901/1: Multiple choice questions, with a total score of 50 marks.
    2. Paper 901/2: Comprises the following sections:
      • Imaginative composition (15 marks)
      • Oral narrative (10 marks)
      • Poetry (5 marks)
      • Novella (10 marks)
      • Play (10 marks)

    The total score for Paper 2 is 50 marks.

    Mathematics

    The Mathematics exam consists of multiple-choice and structured questions:

    • Multiple Choice Questions:
      • Questions 1-7: Numbers
      • Questions 8-10: Algebra and inequalities
      • Questions 11-17: Measurement
      • Questions 18-19: Geometry and construction
      • Question 20: Data handling and probability
    • Structured Questions:
      • Questions 21-28: Numbers (Task 1 – 29%)
      • Questions 29-31: Algebra and inequalities
      • Questions 32-37: Measurement
      • Questions 38-39: Geometry and construction (Task 4 – Using a compass and ruler)
      • Question 40: Data handling and probability

    The maximum score for each question is 5 marks, and structured questions account for 80% of the total score.
