SRC Invites Applications for Chairperson Position as Mengich’s Term Nears End.
The Salaries and Remunerations Commission (SRC) selection panel is seeking applications from suitable individuals to serve as its new chairperson.
The selection panel stated in a communiqué distributed to Kenyan dailies on Monday that candidates interested should have a degree from a recognized Kenyan university and ten years of experience in public management, finance and administration, economics, human resource management, or labor legislation.
Other prerequisites include comprehending Kenya’s labor market trends in terms of income in the private and public sectors, understanding Chapter Six of the Constitution, and having an accomplished career.
The position’s candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the commission fulfills its mandate as outlined in Articles 230(4) and 239 of the Constitution, chairing commission meetings, assisting the commission in policy formation, providing strategic direction to the commission in accordance with the law, and maintaining strong ties with stakeholders and government sectors.
Applicants will be allowed to submit applications if they are a Member of Parliament or the County Assembly, belong to a political party, are bankrupt, or have been dismissed from office for violating the law.
Applicants should submit a CV of no more than six pages, copies of academic and professional certifications, a national ID or passport, and other supporting documents such as clearance certificates from the EACC, HELB, KRA, CRB, CUE, and DCI.
The selection panel insists that the application be labeled “application for the position of chairperson, Salaries and Remunerations Commission.”.

Submissions must be sent to the Ministry of Public Service at Harambee House or emailed to selectionpanelsrc2024@psy.go.ke by September 23, 2024, at 5 p.m.
The SRC chairperson position is held for a six-year period, and the current chairperson, Lyn Mengich, will leave after taking office in September 2018.
The names of applicants, shortlisted candidates, and interview dates will be published in the Kenya Gazette after the application period has ended.
