Ruto Gives Ksh2 Million to Endarasha Academy, Plans Meeting with Owner.
In response to a tragic fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy that claimed the lives of 21 learners, President William Ruto committed to meeting with the school’s proprietor to help resume educational activities.
During a church service at Nyeri AIPCA Central Western Archdiocese, the President said he would meet with Mr. Kinyua, the school’s owner, once investigations into the fire are completed.
He emphasized the importance of helping the school recover and continue providing education to the children.
The President expressed his intention to support the school after the investigation is complete, noting that his government would assist the institution in getting back on its feet.
Financial Aid for Affected Families
To further assist those impacted, President Ruto announced a Ksh2 million donation to replace items lost in the fire. He stated that around 140 students had lost personal belongings, and the funds would be used to buy new boxes, school uniforms, and other essential items.
“I will send you again there with Ksh.2 million you buy items for those whose items were burnt so that our children go back to school,” he said.
The President tasked Kieni MP Wainana Njoroge with overseeing the distribution of aid and helping the affected families regain stability.
In addition to the financial support, the President assured families that arrangements would be made for the burial of the deceased learners, offering condolences to those who lost their loved ones.

Fire Investigation Ongoing
As investigations continue into the cause of the fire, Kenya Power has ruled out the possibility of an electrical fault following their inspection of the school. The investigation remains ongoing to determine the exact cause of the tragedy.
Education Sector Strengthening
In a separate announcement, President Ruto disclosed that the government plans to recruit an additional 20,000 teachers to enhance the country’s education system.

Earlier in the day, the President had attended a service at Stewards Revival Pentecostal Church in Nairobi after returning from Germany.
By addressing the immediate needs of the affected community and committing to long-term improvements in the education sector, President Ruto emphasized the government’s role in both recovery and development.
